MapPoint

There are now two ways to use the MapPoint program.

The original method was to have Balloon Track create MapPoint maps within windows created and controlled by Balloon Track. This is referred to as the Internal Method. Lots of people have trouble with this method including Balloon Track simply not finding and using MapPoint. This method, when working should work with either MapPoint 2002 or 2004.

The External Method is available now and it may be more robust. However, the external method will only work with MapPoint 2004. In that method, Balloon Track calls MapPoint to start, and a separate program instance of MapPoint runs. Balloon Track then sends requests to plot objects and perform various tasks to the running MapPoint program. Below are links to pages with descriptions of the two methods.
