Original Announcement:
  • 11-02-2022Several repeaters have been added to the SkyHub Link system for this EOSS flight (see Comms plan below). These repeaters will be linked together, but separated from the SkyHub Linked system for the flight.
  • 11-03-2022Payload Plans Rev B have been posted
  • 11-04-2022Payload Plans Rev C have been posted

This will be one 3000g balloon or two 1500g balloons carrying payloads built by Colorado Space Grant Consortium schools.

If sky cover is greater than 5/10ths, the flight string will be reconfigured as two exempt (Lite) balloons as show below:

        • 146.640 MHz (-600 KHz Offset, 100.0 Hz CTCSS) Denver Radio League (DRL) Repeater will serve as a backup to the backup repeater

Launch Site:
        • 446.050 MHz Simplex
(Note that some radios assume these are repeater frequencies and attempt to put a 5 MHz offset in the transmit frequency automatically)

Track & Recovery Operations:
        Repeaters:
        • 449.450 MHz (-5 MHz Offset, 103.5 Hz Tone) RMRL repeater

SkyHub Link:

SkyHub Link system has linked a 2m repeater in Stratton, CO and a 70cm repeater in Akron to the 449.450 machine for our use during balloon flights.

  • Stratton - 146.895(-) MHz, 103.5 Hz (be careful that 2m operations does not affect your reception of balloon packets)
  • Akron - 447.425(-) MHz, 103.5 Hz
  • Cedar Point (Limon) 447.650(-) MHz, 103.5 Hz
  • Hugo 447.150(-) MHz, 103.5 Hz
  • First View 447.600(-) MHz, 103.5 Hz (on Hwy 40, halfway between Kit Carson & Cheyenne Wells.
