The touchdown horizontal speed was 21 mph. The straight line distance between launch and touchdown was 67.5 miles.
EOSS-263 with the Summit Middle School payloads was launched on a 1500g balloon from the Deer Trail, CO high school football field (N 39 ° 36.81', W103° 28.28') at an elevation of 5224 feet. at 8:47 AM MDT. The balloon burst at 10:21 AM at an altitude of 72,768 ft. after an ascent averaging 719 ft./min. The parachute and flight string touched down at 11:09 AM and was recovered at an elevation of 4485 ft. about 13.6 miles SW of Kit Carson, CO (N 38° 37.05', W 102° 58.01') after a flight of 2 hours 25 minutes. The touchdown horizontal speed was 20 mph. The straight line distance between launch and touchdown was 90 miles.

Update 10/20/17 1900: Delay launch until Sunday. High winds Saturday morning will make fill conditions unsafe! We will reschedule to Sunday morning when winds are predicted to be calm. . Preflight net will be held on the 449.225 MHz RMHAM Repeater (141.3 Hz Tone), 8 pm MDT preceding night of flight.This will be a flight of two 1500g balloons flying payloads from NSSTI and Boulder's Summit Middle School.
