EOSS net - 15 August 1995 - 147.225 repeater Net called by Larry Cerney N0STZ W5VSI - Mike got the wireless cutdown mechanism back from Bob Ragain (WB4ETT) who had installed a vertical dipole antenna made of stainless steel piano wire. The antenna is installed on the side of the cutdown mechanism's box. Mike is giving the mechanism to Greg Burnett (K0ELM) who is going to perform desense tests on it. When Mike gets it back from Greg, he will write and install software in the mechanism's BasicStamp controller which will log the number of commands the processor has received and executed. Mike thanks Larry (N0STZ) for being in charge of the EOSS side of the upcoming ballooon/rocket flight. An amateur rocket will be launched at altitude to try to break the record for altitude attained by a recovered amateur rocket. The rocket will need a transponder or a beacon and some kind of altimeter. Mike reminds everyone that the 10 GHz contest is this weekend (Aug. 19-20), and that there will be a net to discuss station locations Wednesday night the 16th at 9 pm on ! this r epeater (right after the AMSAT net). Mike says the S.E. part of the state could use some 10 GHz rovers for the contest. N0STZ - Larry says he hasn't been in touch with Preston Prunty this week, but he will talk to him soon. N0SIS - Andy Kellett asks if someone can take notes on the Aug 22nd net, because he will be out of town. Larry Cerney says he will tape the net. Net closed.
