HF Nets

EOSS attempts to run an HF net for each flight.

The net is always on 40 meters. However due to difficulties securing a particular frequency we often move about from 7.228 MHz to 7.240 MHz attempting to find a frequency clear of interference.

Our net control stations for HF are either

  • Bruce, NABR

  • Sparky KADPC

Either or both if these stations may be on the air for a flight.

Nets usually start between 30 and 60 minutes prior to liftoff as indicated on the Flight Announcement Pages.

The HF net will report generic location data and altitude. Reports on the success or failure of onboard systems will also be made.
