Two new sites are being examined for their feasibility in extending amateur radio services to the metro community.
The Franktown Fire Station at the intersection of Flintwood Road and SR-86 which is 4.5 miles east of downtown Franktown. Initially this site was contacted about the possibility of placing an APRS DIGI on their property. Current status of that negotiation is unknown by me. Updates welcome
The new Arapahoe County Fairgrounds has a very nice new water tower. We have contacts in that area and may be able to negotiate a repeater placement there. Again, current status of this project is unknown by me and updates are always welcome.
Both sites are in a preliminary phase of consideration. In order to facilitate discussions amongst the DRL members, I've posted propagation maps made with Radio Mobile for both of these sites.
